Who is eligible

This course has been designed for the rural, regional, and remote healthcare workforce in Australia, who are looking to upskill, think differently, and create positive change in practice. The course is best suited to people with experience and knowledge working in a rural, regional or remote healthcare environments in Australia and assumes that learners are able to work independently to complete tasks that increase in complexity and specialist terminology as it progresses.

Our microcredential is available to anyone to access – you do not have to be a James Cook University student or staff member.

This microcredential comprises of three units, each containing five modules:

  • eHealth and mHealth explaining and defining state of the art digital health care
  • The theoretical background of digital health
  • Digitally enabled workflows and the patient journey

Unit 3: HOW – Digital health implementation and evaluation in rural, regional, and remote locations

  • Analysing complex problems and identifying solutions
  • Evaluation and forward planning for sustainability

How you will learn

This course is delivered 100% online and designed to be completed in 60 hours over 6 months – for example, if you complete one module each week, this equates to ~ 4 hours per week. You can start at any time and learn from anywhere at anytime. All resources and activities are available online and delivered in English. You will need a computer and internet to access the learning platform and complete the course.

You will engage with contemporary multimedia content and complete activities that allow you to consolidate and apply your learning to your specific workplace context

You will be guided to complete an online workbook, that will become a valuable, resource to equip you to optimise healthcare as part of your routine practice

Successful completion of assessments signifys the attainment of skills and knowledge required by digitally capable health professionals working in rural and remote locations
